July, 2020

The 59th Annual Armonk Outdoor Art Show, scheduled for October 3 & 4, 2020, has been cancelled due to COVID-19 safety concerns. After weeks of alternate planning with the hope of presenting a high-quality art experience in a safe environment, we have had to reconsider based on recently announced NYS guidelines limiting attendance, current conditions of the pandemic and unknown future developments. We believe this decision is necessary to preserve the health and safety of our entire community of artists, volunteers, patrons and sponsors. While you will not be able to visit our fabulous artists in person this year, we proudly present our 160 juried artists from across the US and Canada, on our new website.

A broad range of art is represented, including painting, printmaking, drawing, pastels, mixed media, sculpture, photography & digital art, wearable art, and fine crafts.

Explore and connect with our 2020 artists through images of their work. You’ll find favorite AOAS exhibitors and discover new artists. Make contact, inquire, be inspired and purchase art!

Our beloved Art Show, nearly six decades strong, is fueled by a special community of talented artists, dedicated volunteers, art-savvy patrons, and generous donors. Our spirit and commitment to presenting an independent, nationally acclaimed art show has been a remarkable testament to this community. Every year, net proceeds of the show support our local library, funding educational and entertainment programs for all ages, and The Armonk Players theater group.

Support our 2021 show, planned for September 25-26, 2021. It’s a promise of reuniting with friends and uplifting our community.

Wishes for good health and brighter days ahead,

Anne Curran, Executive Director

1Mission & History

The Armonk Outdoor Art Show, is a fine arts and fine crafts juried show sponsored by the Friends of the North Castle Public Library, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Proceeds benefit the North Castle Public Library, educational and entertainment programming, and The Armonk Players theater group. The Art Show is run by more than 300 community volunteers. Armonk, a hamlet in the Town of North Castle, is located in Westchester County, 35 miles north of New York City. In 1961, the Friends of the North Castle Public Library started an outdoor art exhibition to raise funds for the library. With only a handful of artists showing their work on the lawn of the Armonk Methodist Church bordering Main Street, the Armonk Outdoor Art Show was born. The show soon outgrew the churchyard and was relocated to the parking lot in front of the library. As the show and its crowds grew, the venue again changed, first to the Legion Field in front of Town Hall and finally to its current home at Community Field in 1997. Now, more than a half century later, nearly 200 exhibitors are chosen from hundreds of juried applicants from across the country and around the world. This celebration of fine art and fine crafts, displayed in a bucolic tree-lined park, has grown to become one of the nation's most highly rated art shows. Each year, thousands of art lovers come to see an ever-changing display of paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry and more.
